Cereal Killers

This senior thesis project is based upon my thesis paper in which I discussed the role of serial killers in American popular culture and mass media. A morbid fascination with the stories of serial killers is as uniquely American as our love of sugary breakfast cereal. Serial killers like Ed Gein, Jeffrey Dahmer, and John Wayne Gacy have dominated the evening news and been the topic of newspaper headlines for as long as Cap'n Crunch, Tony the Tiger, and the Trix Rabbit have lined supermarket shelves.

In a culture where three of history's most brutal murderers are as recognizable and well-loved as three of our most wholesome cereal box characters, Cereal Killers asks: would you invite these guys to your breakfast table?
